Blood Moon Blooming
He took the little girl of heart eyes and bright smiles
Into a forest so dark, so far,
Where the rain cried and the birds fled
From the distraught screams of the hurt and the dead.
They found the body months later,
Rotting, decaying, ripped to shreds.
A sight so traumatic they hurled and retched,
Years passed but they never found his head.
One dry day, when he was nothing but bones,
Came a box to the station unknown.
A blooming bruise that had their skin crawling,
A picture of the girl, her eyes gouged and mouth smiling.
And a skull, polished and embellished with the jewels of the dead.
The reaper awaits, was all the bloody note read.
