Happiness

Happiness
Happiness is a disease,
A smile spreads with ease,
A laugh is passed around,
A silly little sound,
Floating with the breeze!
But to always smile,
Turns dull after a while,
And a joyful grin,
Becomes another mark on skin,
Something merely for style!
The cheerful light,
Is no doubt so bright!
But without the dark,
It can’t show its spark,
Nothing to display the delight.
If there’s nothing to cry for,
Then a laugh isn’t worth fighting for!
For a smile why should we care…
If there’s no despair,
Happiness becomes a bore!
The reason we value life today,
Is the fear that we may pass away,
The moon only gets to shine,
When by the darkness it’s enshrined,
A light to brighten the way!
The tears need a grin,
For the laughter to begin,
Smiling needs a fall,
To rise above it all,
For happiness to win.
