It is over, our time at Barapani and we are on our way since I could not complete it on the go, I just thought I would finish it in the sweltering heat of Delhi.

The road never ceases to fascinate, as the vehicle turns left and the first view of the lake hits the eye, half obscured by hills and the eye just begins to yearn for more of the luscious beauty, the road beckons, to all, all wanderers, all travellers.
The magic is wearing off, like everything else. This place is losing its exquisiteness.
Here I was on the outskirts of Shillong at this time of late evening, pine trees zoomed by the window.
It rains here
Every day, every night.
As much as it was solitude and bliss, with beautiful tranquil nature all around, it was lonely at times, especially without better half and without any restaurant or even a samosa shop nearby!
My job as an air traffic controller needs me to be posted at small and very small practically non-existent airports for a certain duration of time. In year 2011, one such posting led me to Barapani, an airport around forty kilometres away from Shillong.
There is something good about working in a small, very small airport, it feels like your own!!

Every place has a pulse throbbing underneath, a heart beating within- be it a hardcore stone-hearted city like Delhi or a soft shy coy Elizabethan maiden like Barapani.
